Vader Sunrise Concert reviews
Lake Street Love
Rachael Price is a powerfully sultry and nuanced tornado, THE voice of the century. Their show is tighter and more professional every time I see them, I have been following this band for years. Bridget Kearney's bass chops are massive - she commands her instrument with the force of a lion trainer. Mike Calabrese is all over it on the drums and a blast when he chimes in on vocals, Mike "McDuck" Olsen lays down tastefully cool rhythm and lead guitar and soulful trumpet lines. All members contribute original material, the bulk of it coming from Bridget and McDuck, collaboration, songwriting, it's all there and it keeps getting better. Their cover material is fresh in interpretation and execution, a dead-on "Bohemian Rhapsody" closed out the show with enough flirty flash to make Freddie Mercury proud. The audience was enthusiastic and Vader was overwhelmed and grateful for the love. It's been a pleasure to watch these amazing performers hone their craft and gain recognition, they deserve it. They are simply on fire - musicianship, and you deserve to treat yourself when they come to your town.
